Week 2: Balance

Welcome to The Receptive Mind course WEEK 2: 'Balance'
This week you will learn to release unnecessary bodily tension in the somatic practise and become more aware of your posture
The practise of today will allow you to re-discover gravity as a grown up. It's called 'dynamic standing' and aims for the release of unnecessary tension against gravity enabling your body to open up to the ongoing aliveness of balance in relation to Earth's gravity field. This ongoing movement allows for a relaxation and letting go into the diversity of directions the body naturally involves in. Standing still doesn't exist as we are moving continuously. When allowing the balance your body is naturally involved with when standing, you will notice that your body starts circling, moving side to side or front to back. Our breathe will allow us to rise up and sink down again as well. When this practise is engaged in correctly we enter into the 6 directions. Up-Down, Front-Back and Left-Right.
Questions:
Please answer these following questions to consolidate your practise. It will be easier to continue the practises in your own way once your experience is translated into your own words.
Have you managed to tap into the balance that is actually happening when standing still?
Did you experience parts of your body relaxing or tensing up whilst standing?
What would be suitable moments for you this week to do the practise?
Did your body speak to you, communicate with you through sensations of warm or cold, tingly or itching, and did you listen carefully or notice it away?
What is your main take away from this week's practise?
(Practise the pandiculation from week 1 at least 4 times a week for about 7 minutes. )
